And the winner is...
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL THE WINNERS!
If you missed the announcement, or want to watch it again, you can see it here. The winners are also now on DevPost.
We will reach out to all the winners sometime this week. Don't panic if you don't get an email immediately from us (it is a public holiday after all in Victoria).
If it's a prize managed by a sponsor, we do pass on your email to the sponsor. This is because they manage the delivery of said prize. We ask that you remain patient.
If your team has won first, second or third place, we will be reaching out to your team's creator/owner (that is, the person who first created the team in the Team Management App) to collect additional information to transfer the cash prize. WE DO NOT SPLIT THE CASH PRIZE so you will need to follow up with them about collecting your share. All other prizes will be sent to each team member.
Note to teams: we don't collect feedback from the judges (outside of what they/we said in the winners announcement) for specific teams. This was also not mandatory. As such we won't be able to give you this information.
We saw a lot of excellent ideas, and we do hope you continue with your ideas. You may never know, it could be the next startup (like our friends at Esper Satellite Imagery). Otherwise, working on your projects means you are continuing to learn and hone your skills - and you may never know, you could be the next winners of UNIHACK. There have been many first timer teams that skilled up for the next year and done well in the following competitions.
This is your last chance to get your merch, including getting your hands on the exclusive stickers that we didn't distribute at the Hubs. We close the shop tomorrow. Once we get all the orders, we will fulfill all the orders and you should get them by mid April. This is because the shirts get printed after the event. You can buy merch by visiting the store.
We are also on the lookout for new UNIHACK organisers. This year was the largest, and we have seen positive reception to a bunch of things that we want to continue and enhance (such as the hubs) - and that's why we need help. We especially need talented people in our marketing and sponsorship teams, and you don't need a technical background to join the team. Reach out on Discord, or fill in this form to express interest.
On behalf of the UNIHACK team and our Hub partners Monash Association of Coding and UNSW CSESoc, it's been a blast! I do hope to see you all next year, so we can continue making UNIHACK the biggest and best hackathon in Australia and New Zealand.
